Inside Sales Representative - Houston, TX

Point of contact for our customers at the job site and in local & regional offices. Serves as an internal coordinator for the sales and business development, supply chain and management teams for Pilot Thomas Logistics (PTL). The position will be accountable for coordinating and delivering specific sales objectives that are consistent with the overall supply and sales strategy of PTL.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
  • Develop strong advocacy inside the supply groups of customers to be able to efficiently manage spot sales and strengthen customer relations.
  • Coordinate daily problem resolution associated with optimizing supply chains and improving overall customer experience.
  • Identify customer's buying trends and provide reports to management.
  • Enter, update, and maintain CRM information on leads, prospects, and opportunities.
  • Have a strong general market knowledge for all PTL products and services.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive environment.
  • Maintain constant awareness of product offerings and developments.
  • Daily communication with customers, vendors and internal sales and supply teams.
  • Identify opportunities to both sustainable profitability and improve opportunities for margin enhancement.
  • Facilitate information meetings with Service Center team members.
  • Collaborate with supply team as needed to validate and keep track of alternate supply or delivery options and rate discrepancies.
  • Understand your customers' business objectives and determine how PTL can help them achieve their goals.
  • Follow internal sales processes for managing supply chain and sales issues.
  • Understand and operate within the delegation of authority.
  • Provide clear communications to PTL team members about customer expectations, and how we are performing to those expectations.
  • Ongoing training and education required to stay current with the market/products.
  • Operate transparently with team members in order to position PTL to win opportunities and perform flawlessly.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience supporting industrial sales in a B2B environment.
  • Operate with the highest levels of integrity.
  • Demonstrate a "service orientation" attitude with customers and team members.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives and key management of our customer base.
  • Ability to build and deploy a supply chain and sales plan that is effective in achieving the financial goals of the business.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, strong analytic, numerical and reasoning skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding geographical market.
  • MS Office proficiency and related computer knowledge.
  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require working in an office setting, with long periods of time sitting.
  • Requires in-field customer contact and valid US drivers'' license.
