Logistics Digitalization Manager - San Antonio, Texas

Position Summary:

Responsible for directing, coordinating, and completing activities of the Logistics Center of Excellence (COE).  This is a transformational role in developing the COE through utilization of technology platforms such as dispatch software modules and enterprise resource planning (ERPs).  This role is also “hands on” and requires task-based activities for a majority of the work period.  Daily oversight of dispatching loads to optimal asset/driver utility and efficiency and on-time delivery (OTD).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish Center of Excellence (COE) program.
  • Recruit top-level talent for logistic coordinators/dispatchers and other critical team members in COE.
  • Develop, maintain, and administer standard operating procedures (SOPs) as related to logistics of assets/drivers and creation of inbound customer orders.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to provide training on key topics such as product and compatibility, and equipment expertise.
  • Develop and maintain Logistics playbook for new team members on boarding.
  • Supervise work activities of team members to eliminate Non-Value Added activities (NVA).
  • Meet On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets for each operating terminal.
  • Leverage Asset Planning tool(s) to achieve improved Asset Utilization targets.
  • Ensure the customer experience is positive and simple when placing and receiving orders; resolve problems concerning transportation and customer challenges in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide frequent communication updates to Operations/Sales team members on status of orders and any challenges which may result in delays to the customer.
  • Develop key relationships with stakeholders including Operations, Management, Sales, and Supply Chain.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar role, oil and gas industry experience preferred but accepting extensive logistics experience in other high-performing organization.
  • High-leadership acumen; exhibits ability to grow and develop talent in a high-performing organization.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced work environment while ensuring accuracy and quality output of service is excellent.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Proficient with technological platforms and utilization of ERPs to streamline logistics processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Prior experience with logistics platforms and ERPs, preferably building out linkage between the two to maximize utility and OTD.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule to lead 24/7 COE.
  • Willingness to travel as required to learn business, implement best practices/SOPs, and work with local leadership teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred (MBA, Supply Chain Program)
  • Certifications preferred (i.e. Lean Six Sigma)

Working Conditions:

  • Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
  • May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for extended periods.
  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
