Sales Representative (Las Vegas)

The Sales Representative serves as the business development and customer management function for Pilot Thomas Logistics. The Sales Representative is a point of contact for our customers at the job site and in local & regional offices. The position will be accountable for delivering specific sales objectives that are consistent with the overall sales strategy of PTL. The sales representative reports to the Regional Sales Manager. This position is out of the Las Vegas, NV office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate at all times in a safe manner and in compliance with all Pilot Thomas Logistics safety policies
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Take responsibility to ensure all PTL team members are working in a safe environment
  • Notify the appropriate team members when unsafe behavior or actions have taken place in order to prevent harm to employees, customers, or assets
  • Develop new customers for PTL
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Maximize gross margin through market pricing and value selling
  • Execute sales strategies for key accounts
  • Develop a "trusted advisor" relationship with customers
  • Be the PTL expert for your customers by understanding all aspects of the PTL business and delivery of products.
  • Understand your customers' business objectives and determine how PTL can help them achieve their goals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Provide an accurate update to PTL sales leadership and to the PTL (CRM Tool) Customer Relationship Management Tool regarding sales forecasts. In addition, the Sales Representative will develop plans to execute specific sales activities to deliver on their forecasts
  • Utilize sales methodology that PTL has deployed within the business
  • Follow internal sales processes for the development of pricing and contracts
  • Understand and operate within the delegation of authority
  • Educate new and existing customers to the value of the PTL business by communicating our value propositions and demonstrating our ability to deliver on our commitments
  • Provide clear communications to PTL team members about customer expectations, and how we are performing to those expectations
  • Provide a clear understanding of the business outlook on a monthly basis
  • Work in a collaborative environment and support other sales team members in sales blitz as needed.
  • Coordinate with Key Account Executives, Regional Sales Managers, Marketing team members, and Senior Leadership to execute sales plans with customers
  • Ongoing training and education required to stay current with the market/products.
  • Work with Key Account Executives and/or Regional Sales Managers to win deals or renegotiate contracts with existing customers
  • Operate transparently with team members in order to position PTL to win opportunities and perform flawlessly

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of successful sales experience
  • Demonstrates past experience selling value/solutions
  • Knowledge of building successful account plans
