Technical Services Analyst (Lubricants & Chemicals) - West

Responsible for providing technical service support on lubricant and chemical products to all market channels inside the Pilot Thomas Logistics (PTL) portfolio (C&I, mining, marine, energy). This position will primarily be accountable for supporting Asset Management and Performance (AMP), Quality, and Director Technical Service with projects related to lubricant and chemical analysis for both external and internal customers.

There is only one position available.

PTL will accept candidates that reside within the West Region (i.e. Las Vegas, NV; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO), East Region (i.e. Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Morgantown, WV), AND/OR Central Region (i.e. Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Houston, TX).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide AMP customers with technical reporting and consulting based on ongoing analysis programs.
  • Assist Technical Services, Lubricants & Chemicals and AMP with vendor management of third-party lubricant and chemical analysis labs and testing programs.
  • Provide entry-level technical recommendations to both sales and operations team members as needed.
  • Manage entry-level technical field trial projects, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist Director Technical Services, Lubricants & Chemicals with coordination of sample testing for both sales and operations team members as needed.
  • Support Director Technical Services, Lubricants & Chemicals with SPX product management compliance(internal audits, formulation & vendor tracking, change management, etc.)
  • Work in a collaborative team environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 years working in lubricant/chemical field.
  • STLE OMA I Certification.
  • Familiarity with major lubricant/chemical manufacturers products.
  • Familiarity with major third-party lubricant & chemical analysis labs.  
  • Understanding of components and applications within PTL market channels.
  • Operate with the highest levels of integrity.

Education:

  • Highschool diploma required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred, or relevant equivalent work experience in technical role(s)

Working Conditions:

  • Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
  • May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
