Corporate Procurement Manager - Grapevine, TX

Position Summary:

Ensures Pilot Thomas Logistics (PTL)  supply of products and services and finds cost-effective sources of materials and supplies.  Key member of the Corporate Purchasing team that is committed to excellence and is dedicated to achieving PTL mission to build a world class purchasing program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive management of PTL’s indirect supplier base
  • Directs usage of suppliers based on national account awards.
  • Monitors and facilitate spend management and cost control activities.
  • Supervises ad hoc reporting and analysis of Procurement information using various technologies and applications (e.g., SAP, Excel, E-Procurement Tool) in support of business user and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the advanced business analysis on data from Procurement, Accounting, Contract and other source systems to produce accurate summary dashboards and provide recommendations where required.
  • Ensures new reports are defined, implemented and tested by analyzing business requirements; maintain and improve the efficacy of existing reports by working closely with business users and support personnel.
  • Has a deep understanding of the business to facilitate impactful analysis for users.
  • Supervises the research and report on various procurement benchmarking metrics, including best practices, vendor performance.
  • Maintains effective relationships with internal/external business partners and/or suppliers & lead assigned sourcing events for business partners.
  • Researches supply markets, supply chain dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Ensures a range of application or systems analytical support to sourcing and business partners.
  • Prepares appropriate recommendations and presentations based on research findings and analysis.
  • Supports and contributes to strategic sourcing activities.
  • Supervises the development of assigned RFIs, RFPs, service level and negotiation documents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 to 4 years supply chain related experience in a procurement role; strong business acumen is required.
  • Must be an effective verbal and written communicator with strong interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexible and professional approach to an evolving and dynamic environment is essential.
  • Successful track record of delivering superior client service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, appropriately prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.

Education:

  • Fifth year university program certificate; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination required
  • Certification in APICS or ISM is desired

Working Conditions:

  • Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
  • May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
  • Travel required up to 50%.
